On May 1st, 2010, the Donate Life community will gather together to celebrate together. Runners, walkers, dialysis patients, transplant recipients, organ donors, donor families, allied health professionals and students are invited to participate in a 5K run or 3K walk. DONATE LIFE ROSE PARADE® FLOAT Each New Year's Day, the world focuses its attention on Pasadena, California, home of the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game—a festival of flowers, music and sports unequaled anywhere in the world. We invite you to be part of the magical Rose Parade experience as you dedicate a rose on the Donate Life Rose Parade Float. Each year, individuals, families, hospitals and organizations touched by donation and transplantation dedicate more than 1,000 roses on the float through the Donate Life Family Circle program. NATIONAL DONOR SABBATH National Donor Sabbath is observed on the Friday through Sunday that falls two weekends before Thanksgiving. The 3-day observance seeks to include the days of worship of most major religions practiced in the United States. Faith leaders participate in services and programs to increase awareness of donation and transplantation and the critical need for donors. Nearly every religion in the United States officially supports organ and tissue donation or supports the individual choices of its members. Donation is viewed by most religions as an act of compassion and generosity. Temples, churches, mosques, and other places of worship observe the National Donor Sabbath in their own ways. ADVOCACY Donate Life Ambassadors is made up of volunteers who promote the Donate Life California mission by educating the public on organ and tissue donation through community events, classroom presentations, and advocacy.
