Photobucket Honoring the fallen Oakland Police Officers, slain March 21st, 2009

When I read that Officer John Hege had been able to save the lives of 4 people by the donations of his heart, kidneys & liver, and that 50 more people may have benefit of skin and tendon grafts, I immediately went to my computer, and joined the Organ Donor Registry. I needed that final nudge to get an item off my ‘To-Do’ list – and perhaps you do too. Or, perhaps you had never even considered that donating your organs was a possibility, and you have learned from this tragedy.

My Oakland community (Maxwell Park) was looking for a tangible way to honor the fallen OPD officers, (Sgt Mark Dunakin, Officer John Hege, Sgt Ervin Romans, Sgt Daniel Sakai), slain on March 21st, 2009, and encouraging our neighbors and friends to sign up on the Organ Donor registry is a way for us to acknowledge that even after this most horrifying of situations, life can continue.

Please support the Registry and OPD by signing up as an organ and tissue donor. Sign up today!!!
