Good Samaritan Methodist Church of Cupertino
"We believe that organ transplantation and organ donation are acts of charity, agape love, and self-sacrifice. We recognize the life-giving benefits of organ and other tissue donation and encourage all people of faith to become organ and tissue donors as part of their love and ministry to others in need. We urge that it be done in an environment of respect for deceased and living donors and for the benefit of the recipients, and following protocols that carefully prevent abuse to donors and their families"
(from the Social Principles of the United Methodist Church).
At the very center of our Christian lives is the command of Jesus to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Organ and tissue donation is a life-giving act of love. You can save up to eight lives as an organ donor and improve another 50 lives as a tissue donor. I'm glad you are selflessly considering this act and seeking to improve the quality of life of others. Committing your organs and tissue upon your death is another part of your ministry to others in the name of Christ, who gave his life that we might have life in abundance.
May God continue to bless you and your ministry of outreaching love.
